Dinings, established in 2006 by ex-Nobu chefs Tomonari Chiba and Keiji Fuku, sought to create a digital presence that mirrored their unique culinary philosophy: blending traditional Japanese techniques with modern European influences. The objective was to design a website that:

  • Reflects the brand’s fusion of tradition and innovation.

  • Provides clear information on menus, reservations, and the restaurant’s story.

  • Ensures seamless navigation and responsiveness across devices.


🎯 Objectives

  • Brand Representation: Capture Dinings’ essence of refined fusion cuisine.

  • User Experience: Design intuitive navigation for potential diners.

  • Responsive Design: Ensure optimal viewing across desktops, tablets, and mobiles.

  • Content Strategy: Highlight key offerings like menus, reservations, and the restaurant’s story.


🎨 Design & UX Approach

1. Visual Aesthetics:

Utilized a palette of neutral tones with subtle accents to evoke elegance. The typography combined traditional Japanese styles with modern fonts for readability and style.

2. Structured Navigation:

Implemented a clear menu structure: About, Story, Order Online, Find Us, and Reservations. This ensures users can easily find relevant information.

3. Interactive Elements:

Incorporated subtle animations and hover effects to enhance user engagement without overwhelming the content.

4. Mobile Optimization:

Designed with a mobile-first approach, ensuring that all elements are accessible and visually appealing on smaller screens.
